Ericeira is known as the Portuguese Mecca of Surf. With a swell consistency from 56% to 96%, it is one of the most consistent surf spots on the South Atlantic coast. Our waters are among the most biodiverse in the world and offer 22 types of waves suiting any skill level, under the most varied conditions. Our beaches are also marked with the Blue Flag – the international gold standard for water quality, safety and coastal environment.
Ericeira offers great surf conditions 365 days a year. Beginners and intermediate surfers will have fun waves during Spring and Summer, while the colder seasons (October to March) are heaven to pro surfers seeking for perfect barrels.

Our coast has the most beautiful beaches and surf spots with different sceneries, backgrounds and characteristics. All picture perfect, from wild rocky settings to lively fisherman beaches. But as beautiful as they are, keep in mind that the Atlantic is a force of nature. Don’t go into the water without checking the sea conditions or asking for advice.
